He can already tell that she's fighting against the urge to take on too much of this on her own, and by the sound of it she doesn't have anyone she's as used to working with as he is with Dean. They do everything together, and have for a long time. Sure, Dean would like to shelter him from the worst of things like he did when they were kids, but that just doesn't work anymore nowadays.
It's better not to have to fight to be treated like an adult. At least not all the time. ]

My people from home might have some ideas with enchantments we can use and safeguards that might be a little out of the ordinary.
